Data acquisition is a fundamental step in numerous scientific fields related to remote sensing on detailed scale levels. Information on study areas covered by very high resolution (optical) data is fundamental for local analysis as well as validation purposes in a multi-scale analysis context.
Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)
The application of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) has been carried out in different research projects and studies, e.g. landform mapping, soil erosion monitoring, estimation on snow cover height, habitat mapping and hazard mapping.
Since 2010 the expertise has been applied to many different applications with international distributed study areas that comprise alpine terrains, wetlands, forests, agricultural areas, and semi-arid areas.
